Compared with #Holder pasteurization, HPP resulted in >5-log reduction of vegetative bacteria ( E. faecium, S. aureus, L. monocytogenes, C. sakazakii) with improved retention of immune factors (e.g., #IgA, #IgM, #lactoferrin) and enzymes (e.g., elastase & lipase )in human milk!

The observed decreases in key #bioactive proteins with UHT and RTR compared with Vat-PT could have significant biological impacts on the health of infants who consume #donormilk processed with these methods!
(2) Though ALL processing, including Vat, reduced bioactive proteins, i.e., #lactoferrin and #IgA (-57%, -40% respectively), reductions were significantly greater post UHT (-76%, -82%) or Retort (-84%, -88%). #Homogenization resulted in even higher reductions (~ additional -10%)!
