@Teich50 @BenBajarin @mweinbach Because training a model takes a lot of time and resources and inhaling a lot of content you have to find the rights to (presumably), but the end result is an inherently low commodity product. The value is the UI and guardrails and behavior. Reinventing a wheel isn’t smart.

The most useful thing Apple can unveil at #WWDC with AI is fix TextKit (selection and editing) and rebuild its private keyboard (prediction & autocorrect model) so it’s useful and impressive rather than maddening hot garbage. And also bring Data Detectors up to speed.

@BenBajarin I was referring to exactly that line of reasoning with tablets, watches, notebooks and killing iPhones. It’s taking such a very long time. And the story never changes despite all the mounting facts disproving it.

@PhillipsPOBrien Yes, Hitler didn’t have a mandate and that didn’t mean much after the fascist seized power. But also, the Republicans can’t seem to govern and all of his cabinet picks are inexperienced yes-men, so perhaps there will be more incompetence than evil, just like the first time.
