I told the students they could leave a half hour early (so I could leave a half hour early). They opted to stay and keep working. This is the first time I’ve been annoyed by a high performing class.

Students are super stoked about the adorable duck pond the university put in front of the art building. Less stoked about the lack of funding for art building repairs. Cute ducks > black mold I guess.

@WordNerd421 Honestly, I’ve never had a kid pull out a laptop or phone and start tab browsing google for answers. Maybe other professors have, but that’s on them.

I am not a fan of tenure (except for admins) - but I do enjoy watching newly tenured professors pull the ladder up behind them. No, your slim record of publications wasn’t “cutting edge,” you barely got through but glad to see you kicking everyone else down.

To the students who added my personal account on social media and are seemingly aunaware that they’re totally failing. As I plug these final grades into blackboard and your smiling “we survived the semester” posts keep coming up, I feel a twinge if guilt. Sorry to ruin Christmas.
