Backtesting Engine scripts use the security-function and can therefore repaint. Use them for research, not live alerts. The original strategy scripts handle actual trading signals.

The table reports Sharpe, Sortino, Calmar, Omega, Worst Trade, Profit Factor and Max DD for each ticker. A Buy & Hold row sits at the bottom as a benchmark.

To conclude our explanatory thread posts: A regular strategy script runs on the ticker in your chart. A Backtesting Engine uses the same signal logic, then applies those entries and exits to up to 6 other tickers at once.

On the BTC 5D chart, the arrows show the entries and exits. The panel below shows the votes behind them. While single strategies can be great on their own, index strategies are much more robust over a long time-horizon.

Voting does not make every signal right. C4.2 will still get some wrong. It simply requires each trade to have support from several readings of the market, with trend given a deliberate extra say.

Index strategies bring several complete, rules-based strategies together and let them vote. Each can stand on its own. Within an index, they contribute to one shared entry or exit decision.

The bands turn that moving average into a solid trend-following strategy without much noise. Close above the upper band: enter long. Close below the lower band: exit. Few decisions, some imperfect trades, but a clean way to follow trends over long time horizons.

When price crosses back through the EEMA, that acceleration resets. The average does not carry the speed of the old trend into a new one. It slows down, reassesses, then accelerates again only if the new direction persists.

Single strategies are the most direct way to use our strategy suite. Each is a complete, rules-based system in its own right, built to turn a market idea into clear entries and exits. Simple does not mean basic. Often, their simplicity is their main advantage.
