@author_mkelly Also, if you were to tell me about something you'd done or were about to do and I simply said "You're keen", I could be expressing mild concern, disapproval, scepticism or urging caution depending on context and/or tone of voice.

@author_mkelly It can be used in a derogatory or ironic sense as in: "Boris Johnson is a bit too keen to emulate a dictator". "He is also keen to share his DNA with the female population, whether invited to or not..." And so on.

@Celestine_Hanke I usually have a good sense of the main protagonists, others are a complete mystery until they appear on the page. Both change in the course of writing and editing.

@ArnavIsWriting I've always thought 80k, but the consensus in my writing group recently put it at 100k. Mind you, most everyone else there is into huge fantasy tomes.
