@TRobinsonNewEra I’ve lived in London for 25 years- Brixton, Camden, Streatham all over. In that time I’ve witnessed no violence, a friend has been mugged and my kids have always felt safe. It’s a wonderful City but it’s big and has some violent elements. It’s a safe place to live- FACT

@_RobbieMoore Farms will suffer inheritance tax on assets over a £1m threshold and the tax is at 40%- this is an entirely reasonable policy measure given the wider context. I can arrange insurance to cover the liability if you wish!

@johnditchfield @stuartkirk__ Managers selling #EmeringMarket equities generally point to higher GDP growth rates assuming this is correlated with equity market performance and corporate earnings growth rates… these don't appear to correlate with equity market performance.

@johnditchfield Very few easy options given that the tax free allowance for capital gains has already fallen to just £3k. So harmonisation with income tax rates looks most likely option!

Surely it’s the higher rate relief on pensions payments which is likely to get the chop? A flat rate of 30% perhaps? BUT Very difficult to implement within public sector defined benefit schemes… #CGT reform looking more likely then? #UKtax #tax #RachelReeves

@FUDdaily 2/2 even a fairly cursory examination of the crime data strongly suggests you are wrong about the actual levels of crime in London (given it’s size). On a personal level I find it safer than other major cities in the UK!

@FUDdaily Nonsense. I’ve lived in London for many years and lived in Leeds and the North-West. In reality London is a hugely successful City by most measures: it’s the economic and cultural centre of the UK and in many respects world-class contributing around 25% of UK GDP. 1/2
