@Mythical What are something’s you are still working through? I have been deconstructing for years and still am surprised by how difficult it is not to process things through a rigid black and white filter. I always have to know what the “right” or “perfect” thing to do is.

@michaelgungor Yes! I have only been able to see Gungor live once (I am not including the ATF years. 😜) I think it was the I am mountain tour at the gramophone in St. Louis years ago, it was hands down the best live music experience I’ve had. I would love if you came near mid Missouri.

@JeffersonBethke I have learned more healthy and loving practices from deconstructing Christians than I ever have from the local church. Of course not everything out there is helpful or good, but there is so much worth listening to and discovering.
@JeffersonBethke Jesus spoke about finding life by loosing life. It has been in my deconstructing experience that I learned that the more I “loose” my faith the more I truly find my faith. It not the same for everyone and shouldn’t be treated as such.

@goalskii @JoLuehmann I agree. I have been struggling with what is looks like to experience the good news of Jesus with other people while still valuing their lived experience and worldview.
@goalskii @JoLuehmann I have heard people say that you will find what you are looking for in the Bible. If you think God is violent and oppressive, that is what you will see.
@goalskii @JoLuehmann I do however believe that if someone uses the teachings of Jesus to oppress and spread hatred rather than liberate and spread love than that deserves to be called out for what it is, a false gospel. But does that make that person any less of a Christian?
@goalskii @JoLuehmann I think we are not the ones who decide who is Christian and who isn’t. We can only decide what it means for us to walk out our own faith. The only unifying thing all Christians have is Christ and His teachings, what it means to follow His way is surprisingly divisive.
@HeatherTDay Society/parents will tell you to respect or submit to authority. You never HAVE to submit or respect anyone. You can choose who you submit to and who you don’t.
