@morgancheatham Mental health… There is no quick fix - growth at any cost in areas where therapeutic alliance is the key to recovery! There is no Uber for Healthcare and Chatbot for Therapist. But AI and ML can assist to upskill therapists and solve systemic problems without replacing humans!

Talked to a health insurance exec at a brunch this AM. Asked him for some off the record thoughts on working with startups and what he really thought of pilots. He said “It’s so cute that they think we’re serious. We just do them so our staff doesn’t get bored.”

As a dear friend pointed out this morning, digital health has seen a lot of unicorns in the private market. Very few stayed unicorns once public. We need to focus on creating good companies that have staying power, not returning funds on VC timelines.

The team at @healthtechnerds surveyed their members on 2024 predictions and this one is the most depressing If we, as an industry, don't want to invest $10k in (digital) health, who should? And looking at the digital health IPOs I can't blame them, it's just extremely depressing
