Why are we Born in Sin If Adam and Eve had continued living as Father designed them to live, their children would have been born with the same relationship with God that Adam and Eve had initially. However, those children would have faced the same choice as their parents because the Love of God cannot be forced on anyone. Everyone must be able to choose. God knew before He ever made the first people that they would reject the relationship for which He had designed them. Still, He had to give them a real choice, or the relationship would have been slave to master or robot to builder. They would have been puppets and playthings, not partners in Love. Since Adam and Eve did exactly what Father knew they would do, because they had chosen to break that relationship in favor of doing things on their own, His Spirit could no longer be in them. Consequently, the children they bore were born of the flesh and not born of the Spirit. That's why Jesus said this to Nicodemus: “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.” Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a person be born when he is old? He cannot enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born, can he?” Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which has been born of the flesh is flesh, and that which has been born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’” (John 3:3–7, NASB 2020) The reason we all begin life separated from God and spiritually dead is that we are only born of flesh. Father cannot put His Spirit into us unless we agree to allow it. So, it's not turn or die. It's let Me rescue you from the thicket of thorns in which you’ve entangled yourself and let's enjoy one another forever. Grace and peace to you. Larry

It's not Scriptural. It's another "gospel" and it's false teaching. The Bible makes it clear that baptizm/immersion/inclusion into Christ takes place when one is born of the Spirit and that takes place only in those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ. If everyone is already included then no one has a choice and God is a tyrant forcing "love" rather than extending the offer of true willing Love.

Unanswered Prayer No, He certainly does not answer all my prayers. Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that He does not always answer my prayers in the way I wanted or when I wanted. I've prayed for decades that He would heal my wife from chronic pain, yet she has continued to struggle with it. On the other hand, He has certainly healed her in so many other ways. Additionally, He has matured and healed me as I've had to help her and trust Him for things I would rather have avoided. For example, I'd like to be able to do things I want to do all the time, but I have learned to find joy in helping my wife and in being her constant companion. So, God is not a genie who grants our wishes if we rub Him just the right way. He knows that our spiritual condition is far more important (to Him surely, but really to us more truly than most of us realize) than our comfort. We have a great example in the Bible. The Apostle Paul begged God three times to remove what he referred to as a thorn in his flesh. Father's response was, "My grace is sufficient for you." That thorn kept Paul from having an inflated ego and that made him far more effective at spreading the Gospel than he would have been without that irritating limitation. Consequently, many people came to know the Lord and were saved. The effect of that is still being felt today. Thank God for thorns! Regarding not seeing societal change, the Bible tells us to pray for those in power, but Father knows that unless people come to the end of themselves, many of them will never call on Him and be saved. So, He is patient and allows the evil and calamity in our world to do its work. We pray because we care. He responds in exactly the right way even when we do not observe the direct effects of our prayers. Grace and peace to you. Larry

My initial thought is that "discharge of blood" and "flow of blood" are two valid ways of saying the same thing. I don't think it likely that our view of the Koine Greek is good enough to know why Matthew chose another word, but it may be simply that as in English so in Greek, the two forms of expression are functionally equivalent. (Just my initial thoughts.)
