@shagbark_hick As long as they are fine with being relatively worse off, and they don't vote for the WASP work ethic to support them in their leisure. 30-hour work week siesta style life is awesome as long as they aren't jealous of those who work more and have more.
Read to find out what Sheen's political philosophy was, and why he called it "Americanism."
Amazing development of both a theory of human liberty and also a theory of government.
Fulton Sheen, pray for us
Remembering Bishop Fulton Sheen
Bishop Fulton Sheen understood that Catholicism and Americanism go together, that to be a good Catholic, one must be a patriot.

He sucked. My great uncle, whom Roosevelt sent to war after campaigning as an isolationist, *loathed* him. I'll never forget the sound of the disdain in his voice whenever he spoke about FDR.
FDR is the most overrated president in American history and it is not close.
People treat him like a saint. The reality is he inherited a recession and turned it into the longest depression in the history of the developed world. Every other major economy on earth recovered
It’s astounding to me that every San Francisco tech bro feels they need $10 million to escape the permanent underclass when their only hobbies are buying hoodies and going on hikes.
The revelations six years later are pouring out so quickly that it is impossible to keep up much less mentally process all this:
* The Director of National Intelligence has documented 120 US-funded/owned biolabs in 30 countries many of which are manufacturing and manipulating infectious diseases.
* Senator Rand Paul's committee has released the receipts concerning US funding/backing of the manufactured SARS-CoV-2 virus/vaccine as part of this program.
* Senator Johnson has produced definitive evidence that US public health agencies knew of the grave dangers of the shot to everyone but said nothing.
* Many officials are privately admitting/proving that the whole point of lockdowns was to preserve population immunity for the shot and block other avenues toward wellness.
* Hardly any of this makes the national news and one wonders if the public mind has any awareness at all.
@AntiCommieBecca There has to be constant exponential growth because previous generations built that assumption in to the total boomer luxury socialist state
My husband and I did exactly this in 2009, but in a cheaper part of California. We eventually sold the place for twice what be bought it for, but the hours of labor and the hard years of remodeling while having lots of children were difficult.
I wrote about it! Link in comments👇
I genuinely don’t understand why people don’t sell everything they have, move to Iowa, buy a beautiful old house for next to nothing, and start enjoying a simpler, better, and more affordable life.
@DerekPederson3 What is the evidence that "the reality" isn't appreciated? Insisting that care for all disabled/unwanted children should fall on pro-lifers, otherwise murder is justified is insane. People should carry their own burdens, not look to murder or offload them onto others.
Aside from the obvious, another tragic thing about choosing this path is that killing your own baby to lighten your load and your burdens will not make your life easier. That is the devil's trickery; this action makes the load terrifyingly heavy. We should pray for these people.
This week, my wife and I made the very difficult decision to terminate the pregnancy due to Trisomy 21.
The choice was not made lightly. We really appreciate all of the personal stories that you guys shared with us, especially the unconditional support we received from fans
Having children has made me a lot more pro-choice.
Taking care of children is hard. Part of the payoff is imagining them living full lives as adults.
I don’t know how anyone could find the motivation to take care of them if they knew that wasn’t possible. That’s why only

"Stranger Things reacquaints us with a childhood that everyone took for granted, until it was gone. That world of constant boredom, limited screen time, and default in-person social organization forced us to be curious and inventive."
@LaneSmithScott argues in the latest CRB that what makes Stranger Things resonate isn't the nostalgia but the analog childhood it portrays, unsupervised and unglamorous, in which kids built real skills, formed real loyalties, and practiced the self-government that prepared them for adult life.
The show's central code, friends don't lie, turns out to be a serious claim about what holds a community together and equips ordinary people to confront genuine evil.

@lymanstoneky Does this data work for my thesis that young men and women are only willing to trade their youth and freedom for someone basically out of their league/too good to pass up? Otherwise most people wait until youth is gone and they don't have to sacrifice as much?
@RobertFreundLaw I've prayed to Jesus for 20 years that I wouldn't have to hear that jingle again. Now that I'm on the verge of enlightenment it should only take 20 more years of drinking to get it out of my head.
My review of Freya India's new book, GIRLS is out today at First Things. Parents, educators should read India's book and equip themselves with the actual facts about what online culture means for childhood. I share some ideas in the review about how to combat this:
