@twilliability When Linda and I lived and worked in Germany, we sometimes rather cynically referred to ourselves as Edelausländer. We both had very good "white collar" jobs with unlimited ability to live and work there. There's no really good English translation. Maybe "noble foreigners."
@SDLJames I sometimes switch to German, which is NOT my mother tongue to say things because there are some things that one just can say more expressively in that language than in English.
