I’m a single dad. My kids are awesome. Two boys. Damaged, like all kids of divorce. I know, I am one. But they are whole people. Their mom and I don’t like each other but we work together. They see it. I’m also a divorce lawyer. I see shit every day. Single parents can make it.

Yesterday, I made a post that apparently offended a few people. In it, I made the statement that the people who vandalized the WWII Memorial in Washington DC needed to be thrown into an active volcano. What these people don’t seem to understand is that sometimes people speak in hyperbole and will say outrageous things in order to make a larger point. But this is the internet and I realize that I should be more clear with how I communicate. So when I said that the vandals of the WWII Memorial should be thrown into an active volcano, what I ACTUALLY meant in saying that was that the vandals of the WWII Memorial should be thrown into an active volcano. 🌋

@mtaibbi Matt, it all comes down to people’s basic understanding of other people, specifically as it relates to the existence of bad or evil people. Utopianism is a naive projection in most cases, and a cynical power play in others. Defunding the DoD is either an opportunity or a farce.
