I said 2-3 weeks ago the Iran-US "MOU" was a meaningless piece of paper meant to get past the political exigencies of the moment. I said the "License" given to Iran to export oil as part of a suspension of sanctions was entirely revocable at the will of the U.S. All of this was in response to the "Sky Is Falling" Chicken Littles who think the only course of action vis-a-vis Iran is a straight-line no interruptions max kinetic destruction of everything everywhere all at once. Well, we're back to bombing Iran because they can't control IRGC elements who will continue to fire at ships in the Strait of Hormuz. And the license for Iran to ship oil out of the Persian Gulf has been revoked. This cycle is going to repeat. The big difference is that Iran is the side of this conflict that can't regroup and rearm with each pause. Their pace of repairs will always be outstripped by our pace of destruction. The key is how much damage can the Gulf States accept? The MOU was the result of the Gulf States feeling at risk and needed a pause to better prepare themselves if the US is going to take the Straight by force. We can do it, but the question is "At what cost to the Gulf States?" The Chicken Littles should go to the movies and distract themselves. This is going to take a while and they can't react like scared children to every twist and turn.
