Heres my current Openclaw stack. See first comment. I have Claude Max still linked but only using it sparingly in Openclaw itself. Will manually use the Claude App for writing etc and upload the already completed work for the automation. This way I’m not using unnecessarily expensive usage for things that don’t need it. The AI stack isn't one model. It's an org chart. Sonnet for strategy. Flash for bulk. Haiku for cron. GPT-4o for code. Right model, right job. Wrong model = paying $0.60 for what should cost $0.002. It’s ironic that I had to use my Claude Max subscription to use Haiku to create a cron telling me to switch to the API token. I think a better resolution would have been to eliminate opus from the sub model when integrated with openclaw and force opus to API in that config to limit that usage.
