Q1: Essential questions promote higher order thinking and draw on students knowledge; requiring them to dig deeper to find meaning/ patterns between ideas. Q2: Essential questions are effective because they push students to think critically and apply their knowledge. #STEAMTEAMS

This event was inclusive and engaging, thanks to the collaboration between classroom teachers, STEM & Art teachers, special education and ELL staff! Our students were so proud of their work and saw themselves as published authors!

While working on my reflection for this week I found this graphic explaining the design-thinking process. I am still looking into how I can implement design-thinking into my resource classroom. I think certain aids would need to be in place for the process. #STEAMTEAMS

I've never thought to include STEM centered books in my classroom. These would probably get the attention of my students more than the historical books I have available! #STEAMTEAMS

This is something I have felt very conflicted about. I want my students to take the classes they enjoy AND that will help them be successful out of high school. But, without remediation sometimes for entire classes that were failed students may not exit high school. #STEAMTEAMS

Districts or schools that remove students from physical education, music, Arts, or other classes to remediate them in other areas, have no idea of the immediate and long term damage they are doing to these students. These may be classes that help them love school.
