The innovative approach of the project is based on empowering farmers and rural communities by encouraging and providing them with competences aimed to valorize what local traditional food can give them by developing niche-market farming and food successful supply chains.

Germany's GEH launched the "Ark Farm" project in 1995 to protect over 100 endangered livestock breeds. The project aims to maintain these breeds in agricultural production, utilizing their performance potential and characteristics for long-term preservation.
International Day for Biological Diversity The action day on 22 May aims to draw attention to how biodiversity is being lost worldwide. International Biodiversity Day is held annually to commemorate the adoption of the UN Convention on Biological Diversity and to raise awareness.
