She broke down crying and threatened to call police — prompting him to run across the road and disappear. When arrested, Mofrad lied again, claiming he was 15 and still “at school”, despite having already given officers a date of birth proving he was 20 at the time. He later tried to claim the girls were over 18, then denied being at the scene at all. Only when shown video evidence recorded by the victims did he admit being present, while still denying any sexual contact. Mofrad entered the UK in 2023 and was living in a Horley hotel used to house asylum seekers at the time of the offences. He will be sentenced on August 13, 2026.
