In 2001 George W Bush proposed a partial privatization plan for Social Security so you could put 10% of your SS contribution into the markets. People rejected this. We can now see that if it had passed, the 10% that went into the markets would have outperformed the 90% the government managed, the program would be solvent, and the average SS recipient would be receiving 2X what they currently receive. The worst bet you’ll ever make is betting on government.

Lot of convo on the app about Ro Khanna’s plan to tax billionaire. And there’s a subset of nerds defending the billionaires and fighting tooth and nail to stop it. As someone who bought a restaurant 18 months ago. I attest it’s a hard business, super tight margins, labor challenges. I also am still bullish on the real world. You don’t need 500 restaurants to make bank. You just need a scalable model. The more simple, the better. If you can acquire the right brand and spin off catering, it’s mint.

I hate to say it this but.. Odyssey in IMAX on 70MM was incredible. Dont want to be a sucker of the moment but hard not to. Every minute was so dialed in. It was such a neat story. And not neat 🤓But I mean tidy. Every plot line in act I payoff in Act III. Thats the beauty of the epic but the film adaption worked so well because Nolan didn’t try to dilute a masterpiece. I love how the film never gets bogged down with added information you don’t need. The book builds the lore of all the Greek myths and fables. Ya get none of it. And that’s why it’s so tight. While unfolding of the story arch through Calypso’s plot I thought was genius. Nolan never over explains in his movies, but to remake an epic, that’s the trap. He did not take the bait. Beat for beat every minute of the film counted for something. Anne Hathaway, Zendaya, and Tom Holland were weird casting IMO. They had great performances though. On the flip, I thought Elliot Page was great. And Helena was super powerful. Going into the film I thought I’d feel the exact opposite way. Robert Patterson is on a heater. Dude does not miss. Maybe my favorite actor of his generation. Even the score was perfect. He literally had an orchestra learn to play classic Greek instruments and it created that eerie backdrop for the whole film. 10/10 Def recommend seeing in theaters.

People love to rain down on restaurants because your food costs nearly double. Most never see the costs associated with keeping the machine running. Everyone is getting squeezed

Most will never attempt it and once they do, they finally realize the above
