SNOW TOTAL FORECAST (Sunday PM – Monday AM): A strong coastal system will bring accumulating snow to much of the region beginning Sunday evening and continuing through Monday morning. Across central Virginia south of I-66, 1–3” of snow is expected. North of I-66, including the Beltway and immediate DC metro, as well as much of northern Virginia, 2–5” is forecast. For central and southern Maryland, including Montgomery County, we currently expect 4–7”, with higher totals possible further northeast. Areas northeast of Baltimore are forecast to receive 6–9”, with 8–12” possible in Harford and Cecil Counties. A tight snowfall gradient is expected in this region, meaning small shifts in track could result in sharp changes in totals. Additionally, a localized snow band may set up from the Winchester to Culpeper corridor, where isolated totals could approach 5–8”. #dcwx #mdwx #vawx

🚨 #BREAKING: The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Storm Warning for Northwest Montgomery County from 3 PM Sunday through 10 AM Monday. Heavy snow is expected, with 3–6 inches likely across most areas. Locations above 1,000 feet could see 6–12 inches. Wind gusts may reach 35 mph, leading to blowing snow and reduced visibility at times. Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous.
