@gjoeldiaz Actually TMN was the last book to be written... the story is not meant to be read in "Chronological" order & the first book to read is The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe

I appreciate you, I think the major reason I am personally offended is that TMN is one of my favourite stories & formative to me as a human, I have always been excited at the prospect of more people being introduced to this story through film And now soon; arguably more living people today will have watched this bastardized, rollercoaster ride of an imitation than ever will have read the book and experienced the actual story that I loved; and forever I will be forced for clarity “not the movie, the book”

The Magician's Nephew should feel ancient, mysterious, beautiful and genuinely dangerous; creation, dead worlds, forbidden magic, Jadis, the birth of Narnia… I wanted a score with a mythic weight and seriousness. Instead the trailer looks & sounds like I'm about to get strapped into a fucking rollercoaster at Universal Studios.

This is how Uncle Andrew’s study should look.. Uncle Andrew’s study is quiet, private, old-fashioned, and bookish. Lewis describes it as an attic room “furnished like a sitting room” with the “walls covered in books”, “a fire in the grate, a high-backed armchair, and a large table covered with books, notebooks, ink, pens, sealing wax, a microscope” This guy isn’t some fucking Willy Wonka ass dude The Magician’s Nephew should feel ancient, mysterious, beautiful and genuinely dangerous; creation, dead worlds, forbidden magic, Jadis, the birth of Narnia. I wanted a score with a mythic weight and seriousness. Instead the trailer sounds like I’m about to get strapped into a fucking rollercoaster at Universal Studios.

@PopBase The vibes are horrible, why is Jadis a fucking 80’s disco tomboy?! This should have invoked wonder and awe, I despise everything about this garbage I’m not usually a book puritan but for the love of God / Aslan - read the original book

@r666ley You know what, I care less about a PvE and more about the expectation that PvPvE ~= PvP. I'm actually in support of this change just so I know i can go into a match and kill people without feeling bad I killed a dad playing with his kid

Recently moved from my hand rolled Arch+Hyprland to Omarchy, by default everything is as I’m already familiar with + more QOL, absolutely love this distro so far And having a consistently maintained OSS project behind it instead of spending half my time maintaining my own setup is huge. Absolutely loving it.

Allowing myself to drink beer while working has been the most profound performance enhancement of the past five years. For the past two weeks I’ve been outputting at +50%. Higher focus, longer. A six-pack at my desk, then whatever’s left in the fridge if the build breaks. I am able to do 12-hour days the way I used to when I was younger, except now the last four hours are mostly me explaining the architecture to the dog. I don’t crash. I crashed much worse at the end of the day when I was avoiding it. Stone sober I was useless by 4. Three in and I am shipping. Not sure why. It seems contrary to most of what I’ve read. Hypothesis 1: I burn a lot of energy working at a computer and easy fuel gets burnt off quickly, like with a runner. I was in a calorie deficit that was hurting my performance. Same reason chess players drink chocolate milk mid-match, except I am not a chess player and the milk is beer. Hypothesis 2: I have alcoholism?
