The best hires don’t need you to push them. They need you to clear the path.

@shreyas You could argue that the needed alignment and comms is a "skill", but it's often not something an IC or even middle management can impact if the disfunction is bad enough. Drastic change to organization, comms, and strategy are needed.

@shreyas Some orgs are so fractured due to how people are organized and culture that no amount of comms can combat this in its current state. In this type of org, you have teams that can move fast, are skilled, and live close to the customers but still fail to release a cohesive product.

I have this belief that every PM should have a hill they're willing to die on. They live at the intersection of business value and product experience. They have to have a vision for their product, which requires them to also identify things that could hamstring it in the future.

It may very well exist, but it seems funny to me that I'm defaulted to this type of experience and perspective. I want the messy middle and debate.

Where is the discourse? What keeps this echo chamber in check? I'm saying this as a registered independent voter and what many would label as a "centrist".

I've been using BlueSky for 2 days. I indicated I'm only interested in technology and tv/movies; however, my feed is full of politics. It's full of hyper left takes with no counterbalance from other opinions. It feels like its creators think left = correct. This feels dangerous.

Unpopular opinion: There are specific scenarios when small iterative releases are not worth the squeeze and it's counterproductive. Sometimes larger, holistic releases make more sense. Small iterative releases is sometimes dogma companies force upon its prod dev teams.

The core skill I look for in a product designer is the ability to rapidly create disparate solutions to a problem. If you can do this then you can be coached on everything else.

Recommendation engines are still in a funny state for items that are clearly one-time purchases. It's like "I see you bought a food processor, so here's 5 more food processors you might like" rather than presenting me with recs that are complimentary like a cook book, etc

@hpdailyrant That’s always when it comes out. During some mundane other very small trigger when you’ve been carrying some larger weight. I hope you’re giving yourself some grace Hà! I’m always in your corner

Startup idea: an OOUX based project management system with anomaly detection for design orgs. "It looks like you're working on [object]. We've just notified 5 other designers because it impacts their work."
