most ops software makes you become a part-time software operator i don’t want that job this morning i needed to know which trucks in the yard still needed HUT stickers normally that means opening Samsara, filtering assets, checking locations, updating tags, and double checking I didn’t miss one instead I texted Hermes from iMessage “yard HUT scan pls” it checked Samsara and sent me the exact trucks I walked outside and handled the stickers then I texted back “remove them all except 7016” Hermes updated Samsara, checked its own work, reran the yard scan, and told me only 7016 was left that’s the part I care about not the api not the dashboard not another app to babysit just less screen work and more time with the actual people and problems in front of me ai won’t replace good operators but operators who can turn annoying software chores into one text message are going to move different @NousResearch @Samsara
That’s really exciting to hear I’ve been building a natural-language layer on top of Samsara for our safety team over the past few months. It started with simple API calls, but it’s evolved into Gchat/iMessage workflows for safety, dispatch, fleet ops, camera retrieval, driver summaries, tagging, messaging, verification, and more The biggest lesson has been that operators don’t want another dashboard. They want to stay where they already work and ask for outcomes Happy to share what’s worked, the edge cases I’ve run into, or even let your team kick the tires if it’s useful Happy to share more in DMs

From hiding AI at work for years → to vibecoding a Chrome extension in 30 minutes... WHILE my boss was explaining the exact same idea to his dev team. I sit right outside my boss’s office. Glass doors. Always left open during meetings. So for months, I’ve been overhearing the same script: “Here’s my idea:” “Sorry, that’s not possible.” “Too complex.” “Would take 8 weeks.” “API doesn’t support it.” This is a guy who built proprietary software before it was trendy. 250-truck company in Charlotte. A natural visionary. But watching him get shot down over and over? His excitement dies a little each time. Last week, it happened again. Boss pitching. Devs saying no. And right there, while they explained why it couldn’t be done, I (a safety guy, not a dev) opened ChatGPT + Claude Code. And started building it myself... Thirty minutes later: → Click a phone number in Chrome = opens your phone app → Click an email = pre-built template, ready to send Exactly what he wanted. Meeting ends. His wife walks in: “Let’s go, we’ll be late.” lights off I run the final test (because stuff always breaks). And say: “Hey, before you go… want to see something cool?” He records a 20-second video: “Dima built this in 30 mins… so Sanjay, I expect you to build it in 5.” (Video👇)
