@SpiderMumJess He doesn't reply with a promise of 'doing his best' or even a word of gratitude. He knows that his silent reply will speak louder than anything else. But he does vow to order the boy a Nerf archery set for his first birthday.

He grabs an apple from the kitchen on his way to the roof, the new morning tradition it seems. The flat seems relatively quiet which meant that Bruce is most likely working and Jess is in her room reading to the baby or something. As uncomfortable as it is to be stuck living ~

@SpiderMumJess "Right. Of course." He smiles, noting that she didn't say anything like 'as if' or whatever more proper way of retorting she would normally use.

@SpiderMumJess it and barely bat an eye. However he is tired of saying 'you're right' and instead offers a friendly smile of his own. "Yet, Miss Drew. Yet."

@SpiderMumJess Only Jessica Drew has the ability to actually say something nice about him but keep it hidden in a rant that could make any battle-hardened hero step back in apprehension. Sadly enough Clint has been on enough ends of this to recognize ~

@SpiderMumJess He shrugs. "A few weeks ago you wouldn't have even looked at me let alone say something nice to me. But now because he came to me and then he came to you .. here we are. Throw in whatever it is that is going on with you two .. one way at least .. it's just .. funny."

@SpiderMumJess because of that man we are here having this conversation."

@SpiderMumJess "I appreciate you implying that I would have a chance by saying 'murdering each other' there." He chuckles then looks down at the roof he is standing on as if he can see straight through it and into the flat where Bruce is no doubt tinkering. "Funny that it is ~

@SpiderMumJess He snorts a quick laugh. "Join the club. But don't base your self assessment on our relationship." He finally takes the opportunity to look at her. "You're pretty damn likable when you want to be. Someone better than me and more you're type will go even further with that."

@SpiderMumJess "Wasn't looking for sympathy. Not even forgiveness. I just .. " He can't look at her but instead still stares down over the edge of the building. "I know it's cliche and all, but it wasn't you, it was me."

@SpiderMumJess He stares over the edge of the building, now drawn to the pavement below. "I tend to find some way to at best push others away, at worst self-destruct when someone gets too close. I know this about me yet .. I do it time and again."

@SpiderMumJess "Well you did say friend so it is a step in the right direction. Though to be fair I'm a pretty lousy friend overall so I don't really treat you differently than my other friends."

@SpiderMumJess below. "I'm well aware that I at the top, or damn close to the top, of your shit list and any other lists that don't look to favorably upon me. And rightfully so I might add. But neither you or Bruce are on mine if that matters at all."

@SpiderMumJess The serious look on her face with the slightest of smiles that used to thrill him doesn't quite give him the same excited feelings that it used to give him. In fact, he again starts to wonder how he could save himself if he suddenly found himself hurtling towards the pavement ~

@SpiderMumJess "What friends?" He laughs as he says it but quickly takes it back, remembering how little she thought about herself. "I kid. None of your true friends see either of you as less than human. You both think we do. You definitely have that in common with him."

@SpiderMumJess He nods as he finishes his apple and chucks it off of the roof and into a bin on the sidewalk across the street. "I can see that. You're both really smart and stuff."

@SpiderMumJess "Fair point." He takes a bite of his apple while scanning the windows of adjacent buildings, seeing nothing out of the ordinary as usual. "You really care for him, don't you. I mean, I knew you were friends and all but .. it's more than that."

@SpiderMumJess "So you're 100% sure it'd be safe to knock him on the head, tie him up, and drive cross country with him?" He shakes his head. "I'm no genius either, but I've been around long enough to know there is nothing that is 100% guaranteed."

@SpiderMumJess "As far as nerds go I suppose he is charming." He chuckles and takes a step away, not for fear but because the wind shifts. "And I am not opposed to knocking him out if we are guaranteed to be free of the green guy."

@SpiderMumJess of mist from his mouth which matched the cloud of smoke from hers. As for the other comment, he decides to let that drop. He does not wish to practice his superhero landing from her roof on the pavement below.

@SpiderMumJess "I had to do something that went against so much of what I hold to just because I feared it was the only way to save his life. I am not asking you to do the same, but he is stubborn and if it come to saving him from himself .. " He lets the sentence trail off into a cloud ~
