@barabeke @stacycay Sounds like we disagree on whether they're hurting themselves or not. My trans friends are genuinely happier after transitioning. They were hurting before and now their lives are better.

@barabeke @stacycay Interesting. I can of course understand the concern around minors making irreparable changes to their body. It's when we start telling adults what they can/can't do with their bodies, that it feels like we're taking away people's freedoms. Thanks for chatting.

@barabeke @stacycay So what I hear you saying is that when adults transition, it's not really a problem. It only becomes a problem and hurts people when children see that and try to do the same thing before they're old enough to know the consequences? Am I close?

(I still don't see how parents supporting their kids makes them pedophiles, but we don't need to go there)

@barabeke @stacycay I can understand where you're coming from re the cells of your body shaping you. To me, if your body is female but your mind connects more with a masculine gender identity, I don't see the harm in altering your body to align with your mind. Who does it hurt?

@JusBlockMeAlred @stacycay What if your son is miserable as a boy and happy as a girl? What if your son becomes suicidal as a boy but is joyful as a girl? What if you see their spark die when you "course correct," but grow when you support? You would still force them to be a boy?

@pfeiffer_jim @stacycay Did you know that clownfish and frogs and a bunch of other animals can change sex? Look it up. Nature SHOWS us that sex can change. Why not gender? How can you be so sure this is a mental health issue and not real?

But instead this world teaches that gender is fixed, so you accept that. I'm curious how deeply you've questioned gender
