The index also cleared ground beef at 79%, eggs at 72%, electricity at 44%, and shelter at 35%. Elite company to be lapping. Every name on that leaderboard is something you have to buy to stay alive. Good morning. ☕️ June CPI came in soft and markets took it as the all clear. Bitcoin jumped ~4% to near $64,500. Strip out gasoline (down 9.7%) and core CPI, prices ex food and energy, was flat (BLS). Futures still price a 59.8% chance of a September Fed hike. Interesting times ahead.

IBM fell 23% today. Its worst day since October 1987. Salesforce, ServiceNow and Accenture fell with it. None of them reported anything. They all fell on the day US inflation came in cooler than expected. Core CPI dropped to 2.6% against 2.8% forecast, after climbing since February. That is supposed to be software's best possible day. Lower rates make distant profits worth more, and software is nothing but distant profits. They got the rate relief this morning and sold off anyway. IBM's CEO told why. Customers underspent with IBM because they moved their budgets into hardware, specifically AI servers and memory chips. Korea's market fell nine percent yesterday because investors decided AI spending was peaking. The AI trade got narrower. It was never a rate problem.

Bitcoin is a REVOLUTION. It is much more than number go up. It is an invention which can free humankind from the long sad history of monetary debasement, which empowers few and taxes everyone else. In a fiat system the wrong people win. We all pay for it. It is unjust and unfair. Throughout all of human history we never had a monetary standard that did not dilute over time. Now we do. Those of us who are partisans and are fighting for it understand the stakes. Freedom, fairness, prosperity, less war, etc. Unsound money is the issue of our age. Currently few see it, but this will change. This Fourth Turning is well on its way and the monetary issue will be resolved. As I observe the current Bitcoin landscape and the attacks on its leaders i am reminded of the opening of Thomas Paine's second writing, The American Crisis. Written in December 1776 after Washington had gotten his ass kicked on Long Island and retreated from Brooklyn and through New Jersey, Paine wrote: "These are the times that try men's souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in the crisis, shrink from the service of their country: but he that stands by it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman. Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have the consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem to lightly: it is dearness only that gives everything its value." Sound money has to win. Sound money will win. History will be kind to sound money partisans. This is about a lot more than number go up. Don't forget why we are in this fight. Spread the word. The system they run is evil. We know the antidote. Time is on our side.

Bitcoin and Mungers Rule. One has to wonder about the “AI is sucking up all the capital” narrative when nearly 8 trillion dollars still sits in money market funds earning a risk‑free yield, while fiat money loses something on the order of 8% of its purchasing power per year. In a market that noisy, the 200‑week Munger Rule is less a tactic than an x‑ray of who actually believes in compounding. Buy at the upward sloping 200-week moving average. Yes buy when there is blood in the streets. But emotions get in the way. The 200 week MA. It marks the point where price has already done the damage and narrative has followed it down, where momentum, flows and sentiment have all turned against you, and where long-term value quietly reasserts itself. Narrative follows price. When you should buy, you will not want to. The same is true of selling ( yes sell parabolic moves). The excess return is therefore not informational. It is behavioural. Most investors cannot do it. Emotions get in the way, simple human aversion to loss turn volatility into something to be avoided rather than harvested. I call it the Munger Rule. Have a nice day.
