@TheSolarShed @peterrhague @Eddystone506 I was staying at a campsite this week #corfecastle Closest public charger was a National Trust car park about 1km away. Why the campsite didn’t have a charger and make 40p a kWh I do not know! I would have put at least 60kWh in my car. They had huge barns that could take solar!

@GinnyBuckley @bppulseuk It’s the only DC charger in all of Malvern too! The AC chargers at Aldi opposite always seem to work, no good if you are in a rush! There are quite a few places you could install DC Chargers around the town. @InstaVoltUK how about some at the Malvern McDonalds?

Show me the money 💰 12p is no incentive to switch batteries to export either. They have got to at least pitch it half way, £1 per KW is really a minimum.

@OctopusEnergy I am on Octopus Intelligent EV tariff. Plugged in to see if you’d charge between 1-2pm so I make the most of today’s free hour. It doesn’t add the free hour to the schedule, why not? I have a @myenergiuk Zappi @g__just

I tried to bump charge my MG5 the other day, it took me about 10mins and pressing every button to get it working. Bump Charge didn’t work in the @OctopusEnergy app

@evbox I am trying to charge my car at a campsite I am staying at in France. The campsite reception don’t know how it works so have said to try as many cards as possible 🤣🤣 I have tried @OctopusElectro card, Mastercard and Visa. Is there an app I need or is it just broken?

@rantylars @KateFantom @BMW @Tesla Unit cost of electric to a business is back down to 20.63p kWh, they are probably make 15-20p a unit on electricity. A Tesla charger costs approx £25k (grants to help with grid install costs) If 20p per kWh 125,000 kWh to break even on each charger, 2500 charges of a 50kWh EV.

@rantylars @KateFantom @BMW @Tesla I think Tesla make a profit. The cost to install the chargers is so much higher compared to what it costs Tesla. They are probably paying 3 to 4 times more for the hardware. If you don’t manufacture the charger there is a premium you need to claw back with higher rates.

@Carpervert @KateFantom @BMW @Tesla 350kW charger hardware Tesla - £25k Gridserve/BP/Shell - £100k £75k / £0.30p a unit = 250,000 kWh which is almost 4000 charges of a 64kWh battery. Tesla has big cost advantage with producing their own hardware.
