Movement helped, but only when it pulled my attention away from the conflict. Small, bounded tasks like organizing, cooking, or form-focused yoga worked for me. Breathing or reflection helped after, not before. I write more about this sequence here: seenwithin.beehiiv.com/p/cant-calm-do…

Recently, I learned that conflict leaves the body prepared for physical action, even when the disagreement is over. That leftover energy doesn’t resolve through insight or conversation. It needs to be physically used before calm can return.
