@namogoran6 فعلى سبيل المثال، كان شعبنا في هكاري يحكم نفسه، ولم يكن يدفع الجزية للقوى الإسلامية المحيطة، وظل مستقلاً عملياً رغم عدم امتلاكه دولة معترفاً بها رسمياً. فالاعتراف الخارجي لا يحدد ما إذا كان شعبٌ ما حراً أو يتمتع بالحكم الذاتي.

@namogoran6 إن مفهوم الدولة القومية الحديثة هو مفهوم حديث نسبياً. فقبل بضعة قرون، لم يكن العالم مقسماً إلى دول بالمعنى الذي نعرفه اليوم، بل إلى ممالك وإمارات وإقطاعيات وأراضٍ قبلية. كما كانت العديد من المناطق تُدار بشكل مستقل من قبل القبائل والمجتمعات المحلية.

An image of the late Mukhtar of Rabatke village in the Nahla Valley, Zaya Barjam Khoshaba, was held by Assyrian protesters in Nohadra. He was an honourable man who refused to accept encroachments on his land and stood up to the aggressors. He was later assaulted by KDP security personnel, and the incident went unpunished. His image serves as a reminder of the injustices our people face on their own lands.

So when small villages surround a large town, the map creates the impression that the town is tiny and insignificant, even if it is larger than all the surrounding villages combined. Below, satellite imagery of the Southern NP in 1990. Just 35 years ago, the Shabaki villages surrounding Baghdede and Bartella were extremely small. If we applied this flawed methodology to the 1990 imagery, it would make Assyrians seem insignificant, despite the reality on the ground being otherwise.

It is the same hand that pulled the trigger there and manipulated the ballot boxes here, stealing the will of our people and giving birth to foreign offspring, forcing them upon us. It is the same hand that received aid from our people during times of hardship and distress, during times of struggle and sacrifice, only to repay them by subjecting them to further hardship and distress, confiscating their will, seizing their land, and covering up for the murderers of their youth, and so on… Our right hand will forget our left if we forget, remain silent, become complacent, falter, or compromise… We will continue to remember and follow the same path until our Chaldean-Syriac-Assyrian people attain their legitimate rights and preserve their existence on their historical land.
