Obligatory frustrated tweet at @kcmetrobus for this morning’s commute. The 21X showed up nearly 5 mins early and didn’t wait to leave until designated time. When you’re that early, you should have an obligation to wait for those of us who show up on time.

I’m white & that doesn’t offend me, nor do I believe it’ll hurt my son when he learns about the past & present ways we have institutionalized racism so he can be better.

@Man_Bear_Pig3 @ICeeCoo @CarterElliottIV When I was in 8th grade in the South, my only Black teacher taught us about Reconstruction & the brief period of institutionalized equity-building that ended w/ sharecropping & Jim Crow. That was the *only* time in 17 yrs of public education anyone addressed systemic racism.

Great primer on what antiracism means and why breaking down structures of institutionalized, policy-based racism is fundamental to achieving equity. This isn’t about individuals, it’s about systems. There are so many more vibrant places than just the few square blocks of the financial district (which, yeah, really bottomed out with covid).
