I hope @AppleSupport take this as a lesson and continue to improve service quality! At the moment e.g. downdetector.com/status/icloud/ is certainly a lot more timely than iCloud's own status page.

A bit more transparency would certainly help quite a bit, e.g. instead of telling user "some services" are broken, tell them exactly which ones are broken, so they can make informed decisions of what and what not to do.
