The father spent his evenings out drowning his sorrows rather than nursing the family who perished one by one.

@ConsoomerLs Many years ago I interviewed a woman who was amazing with 3-5 year roles before moving to a job that only lasted 3 weeks. When I asked why, she told he that the company knew it was about to go bust but felt that carrying on the recruitment would prevent panic among the workers.

@FvdE Ouch. Had a VW beetle a lifetime ago, bought as a donor vehicle for a trike that didn’t happen. Came home to find it on its roof. My brother explained that a friend of a friend ‘might’ be interested and they were checking for rot. Surprisingly, nobody else made an offer.
