MY PERSONAL STORY OF HOW WE SURVIVED THE LEBANESE CIVIL WAR For seven years, I lived in an 8x10 bomb shelter. No electricity. No water. Starvation rations. That's where my childhood went. Stolen by darkness while I was supposed to be growing up. Muslims became the majority. Checkpoints appeared. Christians disappeared. Palestinian militias and the PLO flooded Lebanon. My home was bombed and I was buried under the rubble, marked an infidel and left for dead. After 2.5 months in a hospital where they knew I was wanted dead, there was nowhere to go but underground. Seven years. Concrete walls. Complete darkness. The constant sound of bombs above us. I didn't know if we'd survive the next day. This is what religious persecution looks like. This is what happens when a majority decides a minority is less than human. My entire childhood was stolen. But I survived. And I'm still here to tell you what it costs when faith becomes a death sentence.
