If ordinary, fallen human beings can respond to beauty with such wonder, imagine what awaits us in future glory. Its fullness—final, complete, and perfect—must surpass anything we can now comprehend. The heart-stopping beauty of this video is only a shadow of the glory to come! x.com/PaulEmbery/sta…

How beautiful will heaven be. such melody reminds us of God love. Best performance by Andre Rieu. -Draw me nearer to you.

If you drive at all on the highways, you need to watch this.....

Being a college instructor makes you woke, but not for the reasons people think. It's because students come in all kinds. Some are trans, some are gay, some are Black, some are Jewish, some are foreign, some are rural. Some have disabilities, housing insecurity, mental health challenges. And yes, some are Christian and some are Republican. Over the weeks and months of class time, things happen. Parents die. Grandparents die. Students fall pregnant mid-semester. You aren't their parent, and they aren't your kids. But you're sort of their parent, and they're sort of your kids. They're young people figuring things out. Your job is to nurture their intellectual development. But they're young and human, which means they can't cleanly separate the intellectual from the emotional. So neither can you. An encouraging word, a moment of sympathy for loss or struggle. That's part of the job too. The assessments must and should be objective, but to be a truly effective educator, everything before that can't be. Each person needs something different to be fully their best. So you end up a little woke. You realize that frameworks and procedures can't be one-size-fits-all. They need to accommodate the full spectrum of humanity, because humanity isn't all one thing.

I went back to Luke this morning just to revisit the story of Christmas… and Luke 2:7 hit me like an arrow to the chest: “She gave birth to her firstborn son. She wrapped him in cloths and laid him in a manger because there was no room for them in the inn.” We romanticize that line so much that we forget how brutal it actually is. If the gospel narrative is true, then that’s not a cute nativity detail. That is the most explosive statement in human history. The God who created galaxies entered His own creation… and there was no room for Him. No royal welcome, no palace, no safety, no honor, not even a bed. He comes into the world He made, and the doors are closed in His face. This is the single greatest scandal of Christianity: God doesn’t supervise salvation from a throne. He steps into it. He doesn’t arrive in glory. He arrives vulnerable. He doesn’t come intimidating humanity into submission. He comes as a child who can’t even hold His own head up. If you were inventing a religion, this is not the story you’d write. Luke is quietly showing something staggering about God’s character: He wins, not by force, but by love. He saves, not by domination, but by self-giving. He comes close, not as a King demanding space, but as a Savior entering even when there is “no room.” And that manger isn’t sentimental. It’s confrontational. It confronts our pride, cos humanity has always had space for power, wealth, celebrity, and status… just never space for God unless He serves our plans. It confronts our illusions of strength cos God is showing that real power isn’t the ability to crush. Real power is the courage to empty yourself for the sake of others. It confronts religion, cos God bypassed temples and elites and arrived where animals feed… then announced His coming not to emperors, but to shepherds. Luke 2:7 tells us who God is. He is not distant, He is not indifferent, He is not cold sovereignty. He is the God who chooses weakness so He can stand with the weak. He is the God who walks into human pain instead of observing it from afar. He is the God who would rather be rejected with us than reign without us. If this verse is true, Christianity isn’t just another belief system. It’s a radical claim that the deepest power in the universe is love; not might, not fear, not spectacle. So yes… this verse broke me today. Because if this is who God is… then hope isn’t sentimental. Grace isn’t theoretical. And Christmas isn’t “cute.” It’s God stepping into history quietly… exposing us gently… and saving us completely. Luke 2:7 isn’t a children’s story. It’s a revolution. Merry Christmas 🎄❤️

I do. I have known John Ifeoluwa Àyàndélé @IAyandele for the past 15 years. He is among that class of people who have made a tremendous impact in my life. We met in 2010 and forged a common bond in creative writing i.e. poetry. He is the best contemporary poet I ever met. I say this with the utmost sense of responsibility because I have read a good deal of poetry from Christopher Okigbo, Professors Wole Soyinka and John Pepper Clark, Gabriel Okara, Titus Nwosu, John Donne, Andrew Marvell etc. John is a worthy successor to these princes of elevated language. He conjures powerful imagery and figurative expressions to tell his story through lilting lyrics. His masterful use of words stretches the human imagination yet retains their delicious appeal. John has honed his craft over the years. Recently, he published his first book, an Anthology of Poems entitled "My Father Paints His Dreams on My Body." The book has received positive reviews from different quarters. According to the editors, "the father is Àyàndélé’s connection to the deep past and his ancestors, who move through love and the Nigerian-Biafran war, but also through the luxuriant landscape of rivers and forests." I feel privileged to be a witness to the epochal dawn of my friend's literary career. Please see below the link to order a copy of the book: uapress.com/product/my-fat… Thank you.

President Trump is right: For far too long, innocent 🇳🇬Nigerian Christians have been slaughtered while the world looks away. In fact, just this week, terrorists attacked a church, killing and kidnapping innocent Christians. This is the reality they face in the region.

You can reach the top of your career WITHOUT a mentor. Be smart. ✔️ Read books and act on the learnings. ✔️ Consume content that builds you. ✔️ Trust your gut and listen to your intuition. ✔️ Go and have the right conversations with your stakeholders and ask for what you want. ✔️ Don't overlook your peers. Build a network that works. ✔️ If you want to level up, identify the right community, program, conference, webinar, etc, and invest in it. ✔️ Stop putting people on pedestals while running yourself down. ✔️ If it feels right, do it. If you fail, that's okay. ✔️ Chase actionable knowledge, not a long list of mentors who do not have your time. Make Sense? Go and be fantastic today. #Orebukola

“I wasn’t the fastest guy in the world. I wouldn’t have done well in an Olympiad or a math contest. But I like to ponder. And pondering things, just sort of thinking about it and thinking about it, turns out to be a pretty good approach.’ – Jim Simons

Degree vs Self-Taught: In my experience, people who are self-taught or who learned by experience tend to have odd gaps in their knowledge. For example, the Shazam app. I knew right away it must be using Fourier analysis. But if one was self-taught, one might have never understood what the point of FA was, or even have been aware of its existence, and instead used kludgy, inept methods. For a personal example, I was once given the job of taking the graphic display on a CRT and mapping it onto a printer page. The addressing was different, the axes were different, the pixels/per inch were different. I knew what the tool was - a transformation matrix. Had it ginned up in an hour and it worked first try. A co-worker was completely baffled at this. He didn't know what a transformation matrix was, and likely would have otherwise spent a couple weeks on the problem and done a crappy job. I.e. one doesn't know what one doesn't know. The advantage of an accredited degree program is the curriculum is selected by people who know what you need to know, and the order in which information is best presented.

@shawntifying You can’t choose what you don’t know.

@AskMichaelTaiwo This study was done in 2010, so the equivalent in 2025 should be $100k, considering inflation.

Nine years ago, sitting in a hotel room in Budapest, my girlfriend of just a couple weeks found out she was pregnant. I was twenty-three and had just begun traveling the world. I hardly knew her and she hardly knew me.
