In other words, you’ve joined the ranks of a leader. “The valuable skill in tech went from ‘can you solve this problem’ to ‘can you tell which problems are worth solving and which solutions are actually good.’”
When I left big law I felt the same way. I needed to join what I thought was a frontier (Japanese consumer electronics). Be where the people knew more. It turns out I was right because that job got me the in-house job I have held for the last 18 years. That itself is a frontier.

The same for those of us in the trenches in the (in-house) legal field. Writing an agreement doesn't mean a good lawyer. Knowledge of how finance, accounting, audit, marketing and biz dev function and systems work together, where potential hiccups lie and how to mitigate them.
@aakashgupta Maybe solving a leetcode challenge doesn't mean a good developer. Maybe understanding how systems function together, where a system is likely to fail and how to mitigate it are really the marks of a good developer. Only obvious to those of us in the trenches.
