You know what’s funny, I actually use the inverse of line count to parametrize an agent’s work. Negative line count. “Take what you did and do it in half the lines.” So much BS out there.

One of the things that plagues our industry is the Machiavellian business side devouring the hard work people like @thdxr and others put forward in the name of some “product vision” Dax is one of the best follows on this app and a real leader in this biz, imo. But Charm and their cutesy nonsense and trash code must find other ways to squirm into the public’s eye. At the expense of good faith. Happens all the time. That “lead dev” would have been well advised to align with integrity but it’s a tale as old as time. Every time.

This list is 🔥 Funny how “parse, don’t validate” is last on the list. I can’t begin to describe how much better a codebase gets with just that one technique. Even terrible Typescript benefits greatly from that approach, maybe more than all others.

@techsavvytravvy @typescript I first ask whether ur testing if the obj has a T at a numeric idx bc the obj could also be str indexed. So it’s less of checking if it “can be” numerically indexed or “must be” numerically indexed but rather “is currently” numerically indexed. Unless sequential keys are enforced

@andrewlamb1111 Im using DF as a core layer in production for massive scale streaming & it works beautifully. Still not able to do large joins (unnesting to > Bn rows) which I hope to have time to investigate in the coming months, but it’s not a show stopper. Thank you all for the amazing work

@mitchellh I’ve been using Nomad exclusively for over a year, said goodbye to k8s permanently, can’t wait to try this. Go is great but Zig is better, hoping I found a successor to wezterm.

@eatonphil This one is good 😂 Predicate pushdown and range headers are great but nothing beats locally or at least VPC accessible data. I wonder why virtual filesystems like SeaweedFS haven’t found more traction in enterprise for this case. Do they support the same tech as Object Storage?
