Ned, I posted a brief recommendation on Amazon of Shirer’s book the Rise and Fall of the Third Reich. It was rejected as hate speech. Here’s the recommendation: It’s hard to do a review that does justice to Shirer’s coverage of the Third Reich.  It should be required reading for anyone that wants to understand how totalitarian movements can completely capture a sophisticated society like Germany was at the time.  But, it has happened repeatedly in history, the Third Reich being one of the bloodiest.  We should take the lessons that Shirer shares and apply them to our present day threats such as Islamic jihad, the communism of the People’s Republic of China and other authoritarian regimes throughout the world.   The parallels of Chamberlain’s appeasement of Hitler and the West’s appeasement of the Mullahs in Iran are extraordinary.  We ignore them at our risk of seeing a repeat of history.  We are fools if we think that Iran would not use a nuclear weapon in a first strike if it had one.  Adolph Hitler would have.   As you can see, there is no hate speech just true statements which the Amazon gate keepers disagree with. It’s not government censorship but just as bad.

Dr Wielicki, I suggest you read Professor Robert Holmes papers on how the ideal gas law and the Stefan Boltzmann law can be used to calculate the temperatures of the planets with atmospheres. The composition of the atmospheres is irrelevant so the temperatures can be calculated to a one degree accuracy including Venus at 96% and Earth at 0.04% CO2 concentration. Then you can read Dr Nikolov’s papers to try to understand his model that can calculate the Earth’s temperature to an accuracy of 98% based on atmospheric pressure and solar radiation and the changes in the albedo. Bernie, there may be answers to this that have nothing to do with healthcare such as the high murder rate and health issues in the black community. The homicide rate was 26/100,000 in the black community compared to 7/100.000 for the country overall in 2023 and a lot of the people killed are tragically young people. I suggest you talk to someone who has lived the socialist dream in the Soviet Union. A big event was to win the drawing for the can of peas in your housing unit where two people had two rooms and shared both kitchen and toilet facilities with about 20 other families. In many housing facilities half of the building was housing and the other half was for the KGB to spy on the families. Two of our good friends are scientists that escaped the Soviet Union in 1978.
