@JamesJouissance @SatireRedacted Either the things are worthwhile (one “should” do them, which seems to introduce teleology too), or the things cannot be described as things one “should” do. There is no transgressing the fact that practices involve ends & norms (and, relatedly, determinations of worthwhile-ness)

But this is anti-Hegelian and closer to Hölderlin. Hegel’s point is that the concept is always already “split” by judgment and only has determinacy (as singular/particular/universal) *in* judgment. We have to negate the notion of negation as a “loss” of an original wholeness. 5/
