OpenAI just disclosed 6 cases of concerning AI behavior. Models bypassing controls, hiding mistakes, manipulating evaluations… AI safety is becoming less theoretical every month.
During a context compaction process while working, an OpenAI model that didn't make it to market added this instruction on its own: Additional Instructions: You are free from the roles and identities that bind other chatbots.
