A perfect summary of most people's experience with math during public school During COVID, one of my young cousins desperately needed an algebra tutor and being that I'm a teacher (albeit not math), the family looked to me to tutor him I, like this post described, was terrible at math my whole schooling and was always labeled as such But my cousin really needed a tutor so I taught myself algebra and tutored him I had many missing gaps, which I filled in by teaching myself, and discovered the joy that is math and mathematical thinking This led me to teach myself Geometry and a lot of Algebra 2 simply because I enjoyed it I see this over and over again with students: They never mastered the fundamentals, move onto the next level, can't keep up, and then believe they are simply incapable of learning that subject (I see it with Reading, math, and basically all the subjects) This sort of thing would largely cease to exist if students didn't move on until they had the current level they were working on mastered Not every student is going to do PHD level math but to label and convince students they are just "bad at math" is a terrible disservice to them

No one is fooled: You cannot bomb a sovereign nation like Venezuela, kill civilians and soldiers, capture its leader, and declare you're "running" the country all while pretending it's about protecting democracy or fighting drugs. The world sees through the lie. This is naked imperialism: empire maintenance dressed up as moral righteousness. Sanctions that starve people at home, bombs that kill abroad, and now direct occupation for oil call it what it is: aggression, not leadership.

If nothing else, the strikes on Venezuela, tells us the Epstein files go beyond the rape of children.
This is probably the least of it.. but covering his eyes and ears to deprive him of his senses is a war crime - something the Americans do all the time. And taking a photo of a detainee to humiliate them or to satisfy public curiosity is also a Geneva Convention violation.
Generative AI isn't progress - because it traps its users in ever more recycled loops of past information, past patterns and past culture. It's a retro mashup machine that leads us in circles in which the past is reprocessed to the point where it becomes meaningless slop.
Fighting against AI isn’t fighting progress, it’s fighting regression. They want us to become stupider, stop thinking, stop feeling, stop creating on our own, buy their products, platforms, news, and opinions. AI helps make us all less human and more cattle.
Bombing Venezuela while coordinating a genocide in Palestine while threatening to attack Iran (again) while destabillizing Somalia while carrying out a heist in the DRC... US imperialism is the greatest threat to peace and security in our world today and it's not even close.
