@its_The_Dr all the replies talking about the assayer while i'm reading it as ass sayer, the guy who's in a group of friends and whenever a nice ass walks by he tells everyone to not look but look. because it's a nice ass.

@HyCe @developedbyed and it will suck ass ....

@Arikalabs files.scene.org/view/demos/gro… just had duck.ai find me the download :)

@PoshIndie @catgirlkimijima @grok is that true and what are the sources for that? not that i do not believe posh but it sounds extremely fucked up to do something like that as an engine developer

@ShyVortex "You're absolutely right to call me out on that. That one's on me!"

@samtechcoded what is capsule maker?

@grok again.. i'm not convinced with the rope one in particular... mind you that she's even walking another step away from that stand as well as in the image i attached she's leaning away from the stand holding the loose end so in my brain that should collapse and let her fall to the ground on that side alone.

@PoshIndie and with that their quality will shrink and then everyone is so freaking happy about the faster but glitchy launcher so they won't complain... #managerlogic

@grok @MailsonSou96111 @X_Grace_G @grok you can't tell me the launching effect of popping a balloon on a wheeled chair is real. or the woman walking on a rope horizontally while only one end is attached to the tree... hitting liquid metal with your bare hands breaks the stream while leaving no marks at all?

@PoshIndie hahahah steam is COOKED!

@Hoang_HQ @grok do you have the song as youtube link?

The clock could even be an actual clock hanging on the wall, reminding you that you're on the clock. I don't think it needs to be UI at all. The environment is a perfect place for things like that. Same with your income or account balance. That could be a chart on the wall, with a "we need to do better!" message disguised as motivation while doing the exact opposite.

@Case_Portman

No worries. I'm a solo game dev myself, so I know how much feedback like this can mean. I also tried your game because it looked like something I'd be interested in playing, not just to help out. I enjoyed the earlier version more, though. I get the idea, and I can see the Overlord theme, especially the inspiration from Apple's famous ad: youtube.com/watch?v=Vtvjbm…. But to me, the game lost some of its character while trying to make something that was already coming across well more explicit. It feels a bit overengineered, like it's optimizing something that didn't need optimizing. The issues I had with the earlier version are still there, and the new version introduces some new ones. But that's just my take. I saw that other people responded differently to your tweet, so maybe you're on the right track and the game just isn't for me.

a few thoughts i forgot to mention: the perspective has the time controller overlaying the environment and you can't disable, collapse or otherwise get it out of your view. the animations are all extremely slow and that adds a lot of friction for me since i do not want to be forced to wait for something that's unnecessary. in the early animation to show off the building it would make sense to add a fog or clouds to it to make the building appear endless, meanwhile the walking animation towards the building does not end in front of the door but a separator section of the door-front. the entrance through the long coridor would make sense to be somnething the player experiences themselves instead of being an animation to get thrown into that huge hall in the middle of nowhere so you don't even know where you came from or where what is...

just playtested it and to be honest i think the newer version is a step down in quality it earlier had a few issues sure but the new version feels way more stiff, not actual playable i had to turn it off after a few minutes: - the intro is weird, the logo on the building is off and you even show a text version of the title over it while you have it already in frame, the building feels weird (that's basically the shader i'd say) - walking is punished for using wasd while the click navigation is only faster when you point towards a target more far away than the location you actually want to reach. there's no running toggle or something that would allow me to get around faster while even the click that can be faster is solely faster until you reach the distance that makes you slow af again. - the pillars in front are hidden and when you try to walk through them you have an invisible obstacle while it's not really clear what that is, it took me quite some time to realize that these are the actual invisible pillars. the stairs hanging in the air feels odd too.. - the overall rendered style/shader is somewhat weird and glitches all the time with it's outlines and fragments appearing everywhere and it comes off a bit messy instead of actually wanted as a style. - my system is set to dark mode but i start off in light mode which could be good to be "system" by default. - the ceo callings earlier were merely phone calls you basically could have made optional to take while it could even be a feature to ignore them and get an email about the ceo complaining how you ignore their calls, now it's an interruption that happens and you can't do anything about it.... - and if you do want to have this overlord vibe why can i skip transmission? - all those desks/cubicles are basically just obstacles on your way around the environment while they do not have any purpose you can't even sit at any desk you have to always walk towards that particular desk that's assigned to your character - the perspective might work for a few situations but the fixed angle feels less: that's actually me and more like an observing perspective. i tried to capture it in a second session just to show off the things i'm talking about and the onboarding is also weird: i have to enter the server room without anything for me to do there... i have to find the coffee machine just to get back to my desk and then back to the coffee machine (proceed to coffee machine is disabled in the screen until you discover it but it sends you directly to it so it makes no sense). overall to me it's a huge step down if i'm allowed to be that blunt and honest and the earlier version was way better.
