yes!!! that’s what i was thinking. biases have always been a problem but slop is rising quick and it feels impossible to escape. if i knew how to be logged into my twitter account with an entirely new feed completely disregarding all the people i follow and the posts i like i’d use it immediately. if i want to see what the people in my followings post i’d just click the following tab.. in a sense it also puts you into a fresh environment because i personally get annoyed repeatedly seeing one topic fast. it’s so tiring it would quite literally be life changing. the slop adds up

turning off all recommendation based algorithms to get a more unbiased timeline across all socials, then specifically using the autocomplete/autofill of context to look for things you search often. this way, the algorithm doesn’t affect anything you watch or like, you get to see unbiased posts which in my opinion is extremely important (to get a proper view on things without favoring one or the other side), re-explaining lots of things (autofill) as well as not being stuck seeing the same thing because you liked a single post and the algorithm decided to curse you for eternity. i’d just add some preferences manually instead. this bothers me on all platforms (youtube, twitter, pinterest) because lots of times adding something to bookmarks or liking a post because you enjoy the message does *not* mean you want to keep seeing that thing. this would also be useful for working with AI because you can simply turn off memory and just load/autofill the context you need for that specific request fixing the issue of sidetracking because of something mentioned in a markdown file that the LLM ended up putting too much weight on. easier research in the fields that interest you, less echo chambers, less burn out from seeing something over and over again and so on and so on..
