@Indranil1019 @EdConwaySky My heat pump does it pretty well. But in summer I turn that off as we have plenty of excess solar to heat the water with. If you don’t have a heat pump another idea is heat it with immersion heater off peak on a cheap overnight tariff. Cheap as chips

@gazi1684 @janrosenow Read the article? "homes will come equipped with solar panels and heat pumps," Solar part of my system & from 2028 - most newbuilds. yay! Our house is lovely and warm, all the time. The pump itself isnt on "constantly" - no. it doesnt have to be "perfect" to be efficient

@gazi1684 @janrosenow Running costs are £100/month - including the car. So probably a lot cheaper than gas. Have you factored in solar, time of use tarifs etc? Even with our old heat pump, it works out at 2p/kw of heat when its heating the water over night for eg. gas would be what? 9p?
