Rick Rubin in the Polymarket ad only feels weird if you think Polymarket is just a betting app What he actually appeared in is an ad for a decentralised world truth machine now that makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? It takes the thing Rick has spent his entire life orbiting - questions, silence, attention, the search for signal underneath noise - and maps it onto prediction markets. Because a prediction market is a novel and very strange thing that not many people deeply understand yet It takes a question people are already fighting about, turns belief into a price, attaches money to the belief, and then basically waits for reality to answer itself A decentralised swarm of financially incentivised cyber hornets all trying to find the truth Rick isn’t there to make gambling feel ‘spiritual ‘ He’s there because Polymarket is building out something much much greater for humanity : a global truth machine that helps humans navigate and align better with truth in this reality . We speak with multiple projects every single day. The consensus: - Crypto VCs are dead. Its a graveyard. Too many projects slow rugged or the token is completely underwater. - Web2 and TradFi VCs are still doing well. They only want equity deals. AI, Robotics, AI resistant assets and AI infra are super hot. - Valuations are high in TradFi. Valuations in Web3 are dire. - Every investor loves more transparency around fundraising but they dont want to hold back the projects and founders. - Projects want to give better updates to investors. - There are a lot of token warrants out there with a lot of liquidity locked up. - There are quite a lot of agitated investors that want projects to launch a token so they can sell.

people don’t talk enough about the fog-of-war phase of building a startup the part where you know the direction, but not the path you’re not completely lost. you can feel there’s something there. but every move is still a bet try this wedge talk to the market follow the signal realize half the signal was noise change the pitch change the customer change the product keep going then years later if it works, the story gets cleaned up everyone tells the story like the path was so obvious but you don’t see the 3+ years where the founders was stuck in the fog, trying different angles, hitting dead ends, and slowly earning the thing that later might’ve looked inevitable that’s also the moment a lot of founders feel the most pressure to raise which is dangerous really, because raising too early forces you to pretend the fog doesn’t exist you are the boss man that knows all you lock in a story, a category, a valuation, and investor expectations around a version of the company you might need to outgrow in six months sometimes the best updates from founders is them just being honest: share the L’s, don’t bottle them up and let them eat you away silently your investors are there to help you, but they need to know what’s going on first before they can do so
