@valuehurts @StuartMaggs If the property is in a company, the remortgage finance has to leave the company. So gifting it is going to result in tax. And iht could be reduced if you gift early but, if you rely on the property business for income, you’re sacrificing income to gift.

@CutMyTaxUK Investors can choose when to dispose of assets. So they simply won’t do so until the rules change back in a few years. Tax receipts will go increase the year it’s announced and fall off significantly when it’s implemented.

Good schemes have a wide range of investment options for you to choose from - a new sipp might not be better (Don’t take financial advice from random muppets on here).

@MajorDMalpas The potential tax liability for most people will be close to zero, I think. It’s how it’s reported and managed is where I have most questions. Will the platform handle it? I don’t think so, as they won’t know what interest you’ve earned elsewhere. It’s the admin that’s the issue!
