What Building Companies Taught Me About Consulting Over the years, I've had the opportunity to work with consultants in different capacities, as a client, a founder, and while building multiple ventures. One realization has become increasingly clear to me. For a long time, consulting success was measured by the quality of thinking. Clear frameworks, compelling narratives, and beautifully crafted slide decks were often the hallmark of great consulting. Those things still matter, and they always will. But today's business challenges rarely end when the presentation does. Organizations have become deeply interconnected through technology, data, regulation, operations, and people. In such an environment, clarity alone doesn't create outcomes. Execution does. I've come to believe that the real value of consulting today lies in something different. It lies in how quickly uncertainty is reduced, how early risks are surfaced, how effectively assumptions are tested, and ultimately, who owns the decisions when reality inevitably diverges from the original plan. That's why the most effective consulting I've experienced feels less like presenting recommendations and more like solving problems alongside the client. It usually involves smaller teams, more experienced judgment, faster decisions, and a much greater sense of shared accountability. This isn't because frameworks have become less valuable. They remain essential. But complex systems don't respond to abstraction alone. They respond to ownership. Perhaps what we're witnessing is the emergence of a new model: execution-led consulting. In this model, strategy and execution are no longer separate disciplines. Consultants don't simply recommend a path forward; they help navigate it. Success isn't measured by the quality of the presentation but by the quality of the outcomes. As I build my next venture, this is the model I believe in, not consulting that ends with advice, but consulting that remains accountable until ideas become outcomes. The future of consulting won't be defined by the brilliance of its slides. It will be defined by the confidence with which organizations move from decisions to execution. #mBuilds

Consul General Dr K. Srikar Reddy and Deputy Consul General Mr Rakesh Adlakha participated in the Purab Fest organized in the Memorial Park in Cupertino by the Bhubaneshwar-Cupertino Sister City organization on September 21, 2024. Hon’ble Mayor Sheila Mohan @CityofCupertino, council members, elected representatives of Cupertino, members of the Indian Community, and friends of India also attended the event. The rich culture and heritage of the eastern states of India- Odisha, West Bengal, Assam, Manipur, and Tripura were showcased at the event. Over 25 Stalls displayed garments, handicrafts, and cuisine from East India. Cultural performances, both traditional (Odissi) and fusion, were presented.
