@Catfish_Man Fortunately their latest Element supports a local API (really simple REST endpoint). I have that hooked into Home Assistant which re-exports it to HomeKit. Works great and completely local. Wifi is robust on a dedicated 2.4 GHz IoT SSID.

@sdw @morganknutson Yep, mine tracks “preemptively” as well based on motion. It even keeps tracking if it runs out of battery and goes into power save mode! The workout gets finalized when the watch recharges enough to go back to normal mode.

@SteveMoser @siracusa Clearly “SW” stands for software. Hard to think of a reason Apple would omit mentioning an AV1 media engine if it was in M2. There’s no embargo surrounding AV1, vendors are free to ship and announce hardware.

@jacquesgt It’s really great to see innovation in this space! Ferrous Systems just published the first Ferrocene spec, and now this. We use a lot of SPARK at nvidia and it’d be great to have something better (or more general/scalable).
