Prisciliano Trejo, who had leukemia, was reportedly denied medical care by ICE for 8 days while in a detention center run by CoreCivic. He died just days later — and ICE is already shirking accountability. After denying him care, they released him to his family, where he died shortly after. They likely did this to avoid having another official death in custody and to keep their own horrific statistics from looking worse. ICE and CoreCivic cannot get away with this. We must eliminate every for-profit detention facility and dismantle ICE entirely.

ICE detain 29 year old man—30 days later he was dead. "He was completely fine, everything started in ICE," father said. No medical care given until too late—couldn't walk & vomiting blood. ICE claim he was "technically released" to doctors—so shouldn't count as official death. "If it is found that ICE did not provide appropriate care, then they would definitely still be held accountable. Prisciliano Trejo was diagnosed with leukemia. With modern treatment young adults generally have 5-year overall survival rates in the 50–75%+ range. His family never got to say goodbye—his last 10 days in the hospital were spent in a coma. He had been locked up at Stewart ICE Detention Center in Lumpkin, Georgia.
