Look at a typical crypto address and you cannot tell a wallet from a token from a contract. It is an opaque string. You look it up or you guess. Radix addresses say what they are: account_rdx for an account resource_rdx for a token component_rdx for a smart contract package_rdx for its code The type is baked into the address, so you can see what you are sending to before you sign. No explorer needed.

How do i know that sharded radix (hyperscale) will be delivered? I don't, and the main architect, @fuserleer, tragically died! Dan's version of hyperscale, written in java, is partially open sourced, is undergoing continual community testing and i understand will be fully open

On Radix, holding your XRD the safe way can cost you your vote. The on-chain consultation dApp counts votes per account, and every account signs its own. Self-custody spreads your XRD across hardware-secured accounts. Leave the ledger at home and those heavy accounts can't vote. Only your small hot account does. Community members are asking for vote delegation, so a hot account can carry the weight of the cold ones. Muanprotocol's snapshot voting is adding it too.

The Radix Hyperscale team ran their sharding design against Vitalik's 2017 Ethereum Sharding FAQ, still the reference doc for sharded chains, and published the comparison point by point. They wrote their own verdict into it: strong in the honest-majority model, weak in the bribing-attacker model. No fraud proofs, no data-availability sampling, no slashing. Opted out by design, and stated in plain text. Where it diverges hardest is cross-shard atomicity. Vitalik's train-and-hotel problem, one transaction touching two shards, gets native atomic commitment here: both shards lock it until it finalizes or aborts together. Hyperscale Weekly #10: the Rust rewrite shipped halt-recovery. If a shard freezes mid-transaction, the network detects it, reassigns its work to other validators, and restores the shard with no cross-shard transaction lost or double-counted. 60 commits in a week, from a small team. The harder problem this week sat outside the code. The community funding this work wants to verify it independently, and a public commit history is not something a non-engineer can check. It is also unfair to ask the few people writing the core system to market it as well. Every community-run protocol reaches this gap between real engineering and legible proof. Who bridges it?
