@bryce_parker26 @samtugwell_15 I get him playing at Northants because Lehman is coach but surely the selectors have got to be telling the blokes on the fringes to play Div 1 if they are serious. On the other hand, they are waiting so long for selection that they have to make some money in the meantime.

@ringsau @xenon21 In the AFL he'd appeal and try to get it downgraded to accidental.

@acxjones @DanielCherny Maybe other states but it's the WACA members who control WA not grassroots

@amenners You think CV hijacked the process and got out in front of CA, or they were frontrunners for CA.

@feedthecath @tommorris32 It matters more what they say at the CA Board meetings than what they say to members.

@Keyser1617 @WestCoastEagles Well said. A little empathy for some guys who've worked hard but just failed to reach a level that so very few can. All kudos for the effort and good luck in whatever comes next

@Potato03241589 @SamDeanSports @footyindustryAU Is like if you are continually given a terrible timeslot, perennially threatened with not even having a test making memberships a hard sell, and are then pilloried for not having the same numbers.

@NathanCoppock @AdrianGarbgg @Lachy_Reid Yep, the 32 weeks as double 16 is not by chance. Clearly the message it is supposed to convey is being missed somewhere

@_red_wood @thumbsup4eva @Hi2u21 @AFL @CollingwoodFC @GeelongCats The NFL has clauses in its player contracts that allow teams to void all future player salary in circumstances like this. Effectively what the AFL has done.

@amenners I don't think most people have caught up with how much the other teams have improved and become a real challenge. Only Americans mindlessly laud their professional teams winning against amateur opponents.

@malcolmconn Cricket even more so given the increasing south Asian numbers in community cricket. Are there blockages in the high performance pathways?

@hasumpstuffedup Looks to me like a bingo card decision. Black letter of the law correct, but predominantly not paid (interpreted) as such - ie a rule honoured in the breach. Would be a tough ask to find another open field call like this where the angle is being closed.
