Speaking to tech people IRL nowadays I get the same feeling I had in 2000s when no one knew everything about the rapidly evolving tech, a conversation was always an experience exchange, much more signals than noise we used to live in past decade.
Not sure why do I keep ChatGPT subscription while I ask life questions to perplexity and execute agentic tasks in Claude Code and Right Agent. ChatGPT app is slow, codex cli is terrible for both humans and machines and 1M context only exists in API.

@omarsar0 It's pretty easy not to vendor lock yourself. Build your own abstractions on top of their APIs, stay away from SDKs. Once an abstraction is built, it's trivial to switch an underlying implementation.

@DonvitoAI I guess most of those loud codex praisers are the same people who use olain harnesses without specialized skills and don’t use power features of their tools. It’s all mid-curved fashion following. Both have power sides but most people just too lazy to dig in.
